Most people have a closet full of clothes, shoes they never wear, a basement filled with old toys, books, keepsakes or holiday decorations, but does that make you a hoarder?
The Mayo Clinic defines hoarding disorder as the persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions because of a perceived need to save them. Hoarding can lead to homes filled with extreme clutter, making living conditions unsanitary. Bugs, fleas, rats and other vermin may be present. Each hoarding case is very different and is a delicate, sensitive situations.
